Below is the latest from the Pensacola Bay Area Convention & Visitors Bureau:
Dear Tourism Stakeholders,
We are working diligently to spread the word to the media and our travelers that we are open for business.
- We asked our 2,000+ followers on Twitter and our 2,000+ fans on Facebook to post their beach photos from this week at http://www.Facebook.com/VisitPensacola. Visitor response has been very successful.
- We posted a blog, which reaches more than 4,000 readers each month, about Mother's Day weekend at http://visitpensacola.blogspot.com/
- We distributed an e-newsletter to our 50,000 visitor subscribers telling them our beaches are open http://www.pensacolachamber.com/Tourism/may2010-beach-open.html
- We sent out a statement to our database of travel writers nationwide letting them know our beaches have not been impacted by the oil spill
We have also been sending our tourism partners in Escambia County frequent updates about resources for them, from the special training for fishing charters to messaging for restaurants regarding the safety of seafood.
We have two pages on http://www.VisitPensacola.com for current information targeting our travelers and the industry. We'll continue to keep you informed of our efforts.
